Brooke Christa Shields, born May 31, 1965 was an American actress. At age 12, she was a child model. She received critical acclaim for her part in Louis Malle's film Pretty Baby (1978). She continued to model into her teens and was a part of several films in the 1980s including The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Franco Zeffirelli's Endless Love (1981).In 1983, Shields quit her job as a model to go to Princeton University, where she obtained a bachelor's diploma in Romance Languages. Shields played minor roles in films and returned to acting in the 1990s. She was also a mainstay in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-192000), where she earned two Golden Globe nominations and Lipstick Jungle (2008)-2009. Shields returned to NBC in 2017 to reprise her role as a key role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unified's 19th season. Shields voices Beverly Goodman in Adult Swim's animated show Mr. Pickles since 2014. Mr. Pickles since 2014. Brooke Christa Shields was born in Manhattan, New York on May 31, 1965. She is the daughter of actress and model Teri Shields (nee Schmon, 1933-2012) and businessman Frank Shields (1941-2003). According to William Addams Reitwiesner's research, Shields is related to several noble families from Italy and particularly Genoa as well as Rome. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Marina Torlonia di Civitella Cisi di Civitella was her paternal grandmother. She was the daughter of an American socialite as well as an Italian prince. Her great-uncle was Italian nobleman Alessandro Torlonia, the husband of Infanta Beatriz of Spain.When Teri announced that she was pregnant, the family of Frank gave her a payment to terminate the pregnancy.
