Anna Silk is a Fredericton native, the daughter Peter Silk, who was an academic. Her mother, Ilkay Silk, had numerous skills, such as being able perform, direct production, create plays teaching, as well as be the director of drama at St. Thomas University. Anna Silk was born to both a British father as well as an British-born Turkish Cypriot mother. As a young girl, she appeared in various commercials. In November 1999, Anna moved to Toronto for the purpose of advancing her acting career. She ended up making the move in Los Angeles, California, in the following decade.
